Jim Belfiore

The end of a year is often time for reflection on goals that require discipline and strategic thinking. In addition to the Forbes article, I found a surprise waiting for me in the latest HBR. Michael Porter, creator of the Porter's Five Forces model of strategic competition analysis, updates his model (first introduced in 1979) with over 25 years of hindsight and study that makes for very interesting (and timely) reading. It is a very interesting companion to the Forbes article.
