Excellent blog topic Jim! I think that many times we get blinded by the "triz" and discover that some of the most elegant solutions are instantiations of the original design. A truly innovative organization is one that fixes and optimizes all their existing baggage before creating a new path (or perform these in parallel).

Of course in order to obtain the innovation attributes (you noted above) of an organization, there must be the visionaries and champions who have piloted and literally swung for the fence! They are the brave folks who can read an organization's existing culture and find ways to disrupt it.

I look forward to reading your blog!
